Your story continues with a steampunk watch...
You are sleeping, dreaming about steampunk watches...oh wait, not anymore. You just woke up. The last thing you remember is that you were in a strange place. There were airships, people with weird goggles on their head and then there was a watch. Some sort of a mechanical watch, but you don't really remember it's color, material or anything. All of that has faded away. You look around and then you realize it : you are still there, at the Zeppelin Bay. It was a dream in a dream. A Steamception.
To make matters worse, you look like you are 100 years old. What happened to you, dear visitor? Oh, let me guess. You found the Bay's cursed steampunk pocket watch. I thought it was just a myth, but it seems the story of the Stolen Time is true. It all began with a man named Bennett Wargrave...
Wargrave arrived at the Bay at the age of twenty-something. He had no spare clothes, no money, just two pocket watches. Nobody could give an answer as to why he needed two devices to measure time. He said he was looking for a place to "spend a 100 years". People thought that this was just some kind of a hyperbole. Fast-forward a century, and he was still as fresh as ever. Not a single wrinkle could be seen on his forehead.
Rumors said he had a different lover each week. I'm not a man of math, but that's a lot of ladies. He have seen them born, grow old, then die. They say he shared his secret of immortality with one of these women, one that he truly loved. Then one day, he became thin air.
It was a very strange case, even for a floating steampunk city like the Zeppelin Bay. The legends says that his two watches were the source of his power. One was going backwards, which he always had it on himself. The other one, which worked properly, he sold to someone at the market for just a penny. It was a beautiful timepiece, but it's new owner soon realized something was off. The watch was cursed. Once he got it, he started aging twice as fast.
Since then, the watch had a dozen owners. Everyone wants to get rid of it as soon as they realize the sorcery, but nobody is brave enough to destroy it, fearing that the curse would die with them. Also, it is of no use to just throw it away, it needs to be sold for exactly one penny.
It seems that you might have bought the watch from someone, without knowing what would happen. Well, poor you. Luckily, you have it on you right now, so all you need to do is sell it to someone. You haven’t lost it, right? Right? Oh, you fool. You have two options now:
The first is to look around on the airship you’re currently on. This is the Chronotilus. You might not remember this, as memory loss is one of the many side effects of owning this watch. If a pocket watch is to be found somewhere, it is this place.
Your second option is to look for Lily Beauregard, the Timeless Lady. She is the only one who knows the inner workings of Wargrave’s watches. If anyone, she will know how to destroy the curse. Do you hear the constant ticking in the background? They say the slower it gets, the closer you are to the Timeless Lady. Use that cue to find her.
Good luck on your journey, traveler! Oh, and don’t be afraid to buy the other marvelous steampunk watches on the market. You have found the one timepiece that’s cursed, the rest should be safe ( no guarantees though). Save travels in the skies!
